Un grupo de niños de Lwiro, en Congo, entonan el himno del Athletic de Bilbao, agradecidos por haber recibido material deportivo que el club vasco les ha hecho llegar a través de la ONG Coopera. Desde el Athletic se le entregaron camisetas y balones, junto a una grabación del himno, y la ONG y los niños se comprometieron a devolver con creces la donación.

Creo que nunca había estado tanto tiempo alejada del blog... Exprimida quedé en los primeros meses de  verano y el agotamiento mental me dejó sin ideas ni ganas - y sigo en ese punto ahora que tanta falta me hacen (¡jo!). 

Pero como no quiero que pase un mes más sin revivir esto, vuelvo con una chorrada en honor a mi interés por iniciarme en el aprendizaje del francés sumado a mi adoración por el pan de ajo que disfruté hoy (mmmmm...). Esta versión japo-francesa de "Une Chanson Populaire" (de Claude François) no me ayudará demasiado a mejorar mis competencias en la lengua, pero me recuerda la alegría que siento con cada mordisco...

Un supersticioso pueblo costero británico impuso a sus habitantes la prohibición de silbar durante un mes, en un intento de asegurar un buen clima para su festival marino.

En una medida anunciada para evitar la lluvia que afectó al evento el año pasado, la localidad escocesa de Portsoy ha echado mano de una vieja creencia de los marineros locales, según la cual silbar trae mal tiempo.

La jocosa prohibición fue ordenada por los organizadores del Festival de Embarcaciones Tradicionales del puerto.

El evento, que incluye música, baile, comida y exposiciones marinas, se lleva a cabo del 20 al 22 de junio.

El presidente del festival, Roger Goodyear, le dijo a la BBC que se le pidió a todos los habitantes, desde las personas que sacan a pasear sus perros hasta los obreros que muestran una excesiva admiración por las jóvenes del pueblo, que observen la prohibición.

"Es una vieja superstición que al silbar en el mar o cerca del mar uno en realidad se está burlando del diablo y éste puede responder enviando fuertes ventarrones.

No hay problema con cantar, pero nada de silbidos. El año pasado el clima fue estupendo el sábado, pero el domingo tuvimos lluvias torrenciales. Me acuerdo perfectamente que escuché unos silbidos la noche del sábado. Quizás no fueron personas de Portsoy", agregó Godoyear.

El pueblo cuenta con 1.800 habitantes y, para el festival, se espera que las cerca de 20.000 personas que lo visitan presten su cooperación para acatar la medida.

A letra N é o símbolo matemático de infinito e o 8 deitado tamén simboliza infinito; ou sexa, "noite" significa, en moitas linguas (todas elas?), a unión do infinito:

Chapter 1: The new toy.

Lenore, "The Cute Little Dead Girl" is a fictional character created by Roman Dirge, inspired by the poem "Lenore", by Edgar Allan Poe. Lenore has appeared in several comic books by Dirge, and was featured in a set of 26 short flash movies.

The comic tells of the adventures of the title character, Lenore, a 10 year-old undead girl who lives in a mansion with her friend Ragamuffin. She died from pneumonia the first time, was embalmed and buried and came back for some reason.

The primary focus of the graphic novel is dark humor, with many of the stories having amusing twist endings. Common themes are the reinvention of children’s songs, games, and nursery rhymes to something more macabre, and subverting all sorts of pop culture icons and cultural figures into topics of dark comedy. In one story, for instance, Lenore accidentally kills the Easter Bunny.

While Lenore’s actions often result in the death or injury to those around her, and in various forms of chaos, she is not a malicious character, and often thinks she is doing good...
